The state government is considering implementing Unified Development Control and Promotion Regulations (UDCPR) in the NAINA region, according to Industries and Raigad guardian minister Uday Samant. The decision will be made soon, and CIDCO will hold camps in villages to address concerns and protect original houses. The NAINA project, covering 174 villages near the Navi Mumbai airport, has faced opposition from villagers who demand compensation and the implementation of UDCPR. The implementation of UDCPR would provide benefits to villagers and address their grievances.

Finally, Chandigarh finalises start-up policy, notification likely by month-end

Chandigarh began drafting the policy in 2018, two years after Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the Start-up India Policy and directed UTs and states to frame their own policies tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs in their regions. However, due to several flip-flops, the UT missed multiple deadlines for enforcing the policy.

Finally, after five years, the Chandigarh administration has finalised its start-up policy. The presentation is scheduled before UT adviser Dharam Pal on October 23, with the notification expected in the last week of this month. (HT File)
