Chandigarh’s Sector 26 mandi to be closed from 12 pm to 2 pm daily for upkeep

The decision has been made in response to concerns about the continuous movement of people and vehicles, which tend to hinder effective cleaning operations.

Wheat procurement: 932 cr disbursed to farmers in Haryana so far, claims CM Khattar

Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that a payment file was generated on Saturday for disbursement ₹317 crore in the accounts of 24, 624 farmers and this payment will be initiated on April 17.

Punjab wheat yield satisfactory, no big impact of rain: Farmers

Barring some areas which were hit by hailstorm, the yield reported is between 21 to 25 quintals per acre. 10% crop area of the total 3.49 million hectares (8.55 million acres) has been harvested so far and harvest is expected to pick up in the upcoming week.

Expressing gratitude to the Centre for relaxation in the uniform specifications of wheat procurement in view of lustre loss or shrivelled and broken grains due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms, Haryana CM Khattar said in view of the problems faced by the farmers, he had taken up the matter with the Centre.
