About 3,000 trees cut in Noida Sector 91 according to forest department report

Out of the 3,000 trees the Noida authority had given permission to cut, at least 2,994 trees were felled in Sector 91, where a biodiversity park is schedule to come up

After residents protest, Noida will not cut trees for Biodiversity Park

While some residents’ welfare organisations have demanded that eucalyptus trees be cut, other resident groups and the authority’s horticulture department have planned a plantation drive at the Park site Wednesday.

Authority begins work on Noida’s largest park

The authority had, in 1985, planted eucalyptus trees to save the government land from encroachment from the land mafia. It decided to cut 3,500 eucalyptuses and 20 babool trees in 2014 with the aim of converting the land into a park for the residents.
