Unseasonal rain and hailstorms have damaged crops in 22 districts of Maharashtra, increasing the area under damage by three times and leading to a rise in vegetable prices. The Yawatmal district in Vidarbha region is most affected, with 126,438 hectares of crops damaged. The rise in affected areas is expected to result in a higher financial burden for compensation and a shortage of onions and vegetables in the market.
