Designer Pallavi Jaikishan tells us how she clocks almost 12 hours daily and the glamour is limited to the ramp.

Designer Pallavi Jaikishan took us back in time with her collection titled Nostalgia on the second day of Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance’s India Couture Week 2018.

Just before her show, we caught up with her in the make-up room, where she was going from one model to another making sure the make-up was being done right and giving out other instructions. With all this hectic activity going on, we managed to squeeze in a few minutes with her.

“I shall be showcasing designs which are recreations of what I had done around 25 years back,” said Pallavi.

Speaking about her schedule and long working hours, the designer said, “Everyone thinks this is a very glamorous industry, but all the glamour which is there is only what is right in front of you (pointing at the dressing room and the models getting ready).”

“I start work at 8 30 am everyday and carry on till 7 pm. So if that isn’t hard work, I don’t know what is! Of course, you’re known as a glamorous person and you are connected to glamour via your designs, but we clearly have to toil,” said Pallavi.
