The SSP has decided to provide protection to senior citizens under a novel plan that envisages ?adoption? of a childless senior citizen couple by each police station. The fact came to the fore when a girl was administered wrong blood group in a private nursing home on Thursday. EQUIPPED WITH the new DM order, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation has planned to impose heavy penalty and initiate legal action against the contestants in civic polls found guilty of defacing walls for their election campaign. The order applies to all government buildings, historical monuments, crossings and roads. In case of private buildings, permission of the owner is mandatory for any sort of wall writing. Besides penalising the guilty, the LMC will also put off the plastic buntings on busy crossings of the city.
