Why Akhilesh Yadav wants to set up Vodka plant in Agra and the potato link

While campaigning in Agra, Akhilesh Yadav said his govt will build a Vodka plant if voted to power. Pointing to an agriculture expert, the Samajwadi party chief said his government will set up a potato processing factory in the region. “We will build a potato processing unit here and if needed we will also build a vodka plant. Tell me whether vodka can be made from potatoes or not?,” said the SP chief. Akhilesh said the vodka plant will be set up to prevent wastage of potatoes grown by the farmers.
