- Comedian-turned-politician Bhagwant Mann is all set to create history as trends suggest an AAP wave in Punjab. AAP is likely to get a clear majority in the border state. Just like AAP, Bhagwant Mann's rise has been meteoric. Born on October 17, 1973 in Satoj village of Punjab's Sangrur district, Bhagwant Mann contested the assembly election from Dhuri constituency in Sangrur. He was declared as the AAP's chief ministerial candidate by the party's convener Arvind Kejriwal ahead of elections on January 18 this year.
