Candidates who fail in one subject or score low marks in the UP board Class 10th exam can apply for the compartment exam to improve their marks. Moreover, candidates who have failed in two papers can also apply for improvement exam. With the improvement exam, candidates get one more chance to improve their marks and score better.

The option exists only for class 10 board exams and not class 12. If a student fails in one subject, he is eligible to appear in improvement exam but if one has failed in two subjects then he/she can appear in compartment exam in one or both the subjects.
However, candidates who fail in more than two subjects do not get to appear for UP Board compartment exam. They will be considered as failed.
UP Board exam results are expected to be declared by this week. According to sources, there is a possibility that the result date will be announced on Thursday and the result will be declared within three days of the announcement.
Students who might get low marks in the UP Board 10th exam, can apply for the supplementary exam after the declaration of the results.
UP Board will announce the schedule of class 10th supplementary exam after the class 10th result is declared. The UP Board will invite applications for the supplementary exam and candidates will be able to apply for the exam by filling a form and paying the fee amount.
