I never understood how my Indian fans got my number: Adnan Siddiqui
Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui talks about the warm welcome he received in India; says Bollywood has a huge connect with the audience.
Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui was in Mumbai last month and he enjoyed his stay in the city. “I always wanted to come to Mumbai. It was amazing. I enjoyed the warmth and love, which can’t be explained in words,” he says, adding, “The reception was astounding. Coming to a new country and finding so much love is overwhelming.”

The actor is puzzled about how fans managed to get his phone number. “I get many calls from fans in India. I never understood how they got my number,” he adds.

The actor was in India during the month of Ramzan and feasted at Mumbai’s Mohammed Ali Road. Though he didn’t have the time to sample all the delicacies available, he “relished” Bademiya’s kebabs. “I enjoyed them, but I was mobbed and I didn’t get a chance to pay for the food,” says the 46-year-old actor.

Adnan, who has done Pakistani serials such as Mere Qatil Mere Dildaar, Kaisi Ye Qayamat, Ruswaiyaan and Vasl, among others, enjoys watching Hindi TV shows. He says, “People relate to the characters I play. As for Hindi serials, I have seen many of them. Your TV shows are loved in Pakistan and our TV shows are loved in India.”

The actor is a fan of Hindi films and realises that Bollywood has a huge connect with the audience. He says, “Your movies are famous across the world. Actors in India are talented and many are making headway in Hollywood. There is no doubt that the acting caliber is good.”
