MF Husain painting seized from Nirav Modi sets auction record of 13.44 crore in Mumbai

A total of 40 lots — 15 artworks, a 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost and a selection of limited-edition and luxury handbags and watches -- were sold at the auction.

Husain’s 1972 work ‘Battle of Ganga and Jamuna: Mahabharata 12’ is a diptych, which depicts the battle between the two rivers.

UK court remands Nirav Modi till June 27

Modi was arrested by uniformed Scotland Yard officers on an extradition warrant from a Metro Bank branch in central London as he attempted to open a new bank account on March 19 and has been in prison since.

Nirav Modi likely to seek bail again in London court

After being refused bail twice, diamantaire Nirav Modi is expected to seek bail again when the Westminster Magistrates Court takes up his case on Friday in a ‘case management hearing’ before the extradition trial begins later in the year.
