Goa’s decision to not impose night curfew keeps New Year party going

The beaches became choked with crowds as many night clubs also organised parties for New Year’s eve. Goa’s health minister Vishwajit Rane had said earlier that a night curfew was likely to be imposed, and that he had spoken to chief minister about the it, but ultimately no curfew was imposed.

Need to sanitise buses to check Covid-19 spread: Goa health minister

“It is the need of the hour to fumigate bus stands and buses which are used for public transport. It will be discussed with the chief minister. Whatever activities we need to outsource to other agencies will also be discussed with the chief secretary and state health secretary,” Goa health minister Vishwajit Rane said.

Goa registers 108 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths in deadliest day yet

The previous single-day spike in cases in Goa was recorded on Thursday when it recorded 95 new infections. This is the first time Goa has recorded more than a 100 cases in a single day.

Goa government orders random testing at slums near Covid-19 hospital

Goa warns against attending large gatherings as coronavirus fear grows

AAP claims fish imported in Goa laced with formalin; Health min denies

Rane said besides, QCI, the Goa Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) officers have tested more than 6,000 samples of fish from border points, wholesale markets as well as retail fish markets in Goa and none of the samples showed added formalin.

Rane said the government would like to assure the people of Goa that the fish sold in the state is safe and free of formalin. “There is absolutely no need to panic or to pay heed to any rumours,” he said.(PTI image)
