Trial run of Vande Bharat Sleeper on Wed

Mumbai is all set to get a Vande Bharat Sleeper train. The trial run will take place on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara-Mumbai Central route. A prototype of the train will depart from Ahmedabad at 7.15 am on Wednesday and arrive at Mumbai Central at 12.40 pm, after covering a distance of 540 km in 5 hours and 25 minutes.

Trial run: Electric train chugs over world’s highest arch rail bridge

Barely three days after Northern Railways conducted a trial run of an electric engine between Sangaldan in Ramban district and Reasi on June 16, an eight-bogie electric train on Thursday successfully conducted a trial run between the two stations, including world’s tallest arch rail bridge, called eighth wonder of the world, over the Chenab river in Reasi.

Another saffron Vande Bharat completes trial run, reaches Lucknow

The train will give a big relief to passengers travelling between Patna and Lucknow. The railways has yet to decide the timing of the train and the stations where it will halt.This will be the second saffron Vande Bharat in the state and third in the country.

According to sources in Central Railway (CR), the ADAS has multiple functions, such as in-built GPS to gauge the real-time location, front and back cameras to monitor motormen manoeuvring the train and the track on the front, video recording of the trip, among other technical benefits

Separating freight traffic from passenger trains, the 82-km section is part of the total 175.1-km section from Sahnewal in Punjab to Pilkhani in Uttar Pradesh covering Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Ambala, Yamunanagar and Saharanpur districts of three states. The unit is constructing the corridor in three phases, Shambhu-Sahnewal in Punjab (82 km), the Kalanaur-Pilkhani part in Uttar Pradesh (16.8 km) and Shambhu-Kalanaur in Haryana (76.7 km).

Gurugram police launch app to issue challans against traffic violators

Shimla’s iconic church bell will ring after 38 years this Christmas

After 38 years, the bell atop Shimla’s landmark Christ Church on the Ridge will ring in Christmas. “We had been listening to the bell and the chimes since childhood but they stopped ringing 38 years ago.
