Traffic advisory for Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway ahead of PM Modi's visit

Mandya district police have issued an advisory to divert traffic from the ambitious 10-lane Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway ahead of PM Modi's visit on March 12.

Eight key infra sectors output grows at 4-month high of 7.8% in Jan: Govt data

The growth rate of eight infrastructure sectors -- coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertilisers, steel, cement and electricity -- stood at 7.9 per cent in April-January this fiscal as against 11.6 per cent during the same period last fiscal.

Toll collection on a stretch of the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway which was set to begin today has been deferred till March 14 due to “unavoidable reasons”, a notice from the NHAI said.

Delhi’s Chandni Chowk Road set to be pedestrian-only from 9am to 9pm

The unified traffic and transportation infrastructure (planning & engineering) centre (UTTIPEC) has cleared a proposal to reserve the 1.5km stretch, starting from Red Fort to Fatehpuri mosque, for pedestrians and non-motorised vehicles.

No vehicular traffic will be permitted on the road for 12 hours — 9am to 9pm. Only non-motorised transport (NMVs) such as cycle rickshaws will be allowed to ply in a dedicated corridor, a senior Delhi government official, who attended the meeting, said.(HT File Photo)
