Sasikala may fight EC move on poll symbol

At the time, two factions of the AIADMK were fighting for control of the party and the poll watchdog decided in favour of the Palaniswami-led faction. Sasikala was close aide of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa.

MNM to own TV channel to enhance reach ahead of 2021 TN assembly polls

Putting an end to speculation about the party starting a news channel, Mahendran, a confidant of the actor, told the media after a meeting of party workers at Palayamkottai on Friday that the MNM was engaged in the process of having its own TV channel.

With the acquisition of the TV channel and Kamal Hassan’s proposed state-wide tour from November 7, coinciding with the actor’s birthday, the party is making a determined bid to be an alternative to the two dominant Dravidian parties, the ruling AIADMK and the opposition DMK.(ANI PHOTO.)

MNM implements poll strategist Prashant Kishor’s template for 2021 TN assembly polls

The major Dravidian parties, the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), and opposition Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) are yet to come out from the shadow of the recently finished Lok Sabha polls and 22 assembly by-polls. But, the MNM has already activated its poll machinery for the 2021 assembly polls as per the IPAC’s blueprint.
