Another video of Delhi minister Satyendar Jain from Tihar Jail amid AAP vs BJP

Satyendar Jain via his counsel Rahul Mehra moved an application in a special court this week seeking its direction to restrain media from airing CCTV footage pertaining to him at Tihar Jail. On Thursday, the application was withdrawn with Mehra saying they will move the Delhi high court instead.

In the past few weeks, Delhi’s Tihar jail has been on high alert after several cases of prisoners using cell phones to run extortion rackets and planning murders came to light.

At 87, Om Prakash Chautala is now Tihar’s oldest prisoner

According to prison records, former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala is one of seven prisoners above the age of 80. There are another 63 between ages 70 and 80. Until Chautala’s sentencing on Friday, an 85-year-old convicted of murder was the oldest in the prison.
