Netflix dramatically pulls out of Cannes Film Festival at the last moment

After a week-long standoff, Netflix pulled out of the Cannes Film Festival hours before the lineup was announced on Thursday. Cannes chief Thierry Fremauz had banned Netflix movies from competing because they flouted the festival’s rules about theatrical distribution.
