One hurt as Nihangs clash among each other near Quami Insaaf Morcha protest site in Mohali

Police have arrested a Nihang Sikh and booked eight others for attempt-to-murder, rioting, unlawful assembly and criminal conspiracy. The accused have been identified as Nihang Mela Singh, 38, who is under arrest, and Fateh Singh, Jung Singh, Mor Singh, Rajput, Jassa, and three unidentified persons, who have been booked.

Of 822 tainted cops in Punjab, 17% being probed for corruption

Department of home affairs deputy secretary Vijay Singh Chauhan submitted the report after a high court order in September in which the state was told to submit details of FIRs against all serving state police officers along with the nature of criminal cases.
