Two brothers murdered in Solan over monetary issue

The victim’s maternal uncle said the brothers had been called to Nakodar by one Gaurav Gill of Kiva village, to settle the dispute. When they refused to go to Nakodar, they were asked to come to a spot on the Nalagarh-Ramshehar road where three people on a motorcycle attacked them with sharp-edged weapons.

Following the attack, the brothers were reportedly seen lying helpless on the road, but instead of helping them, bystanders took to capturing the horrifying scene on their phones. (HT File)

Red alert issued for 7 Himachal districts amid heavy rain

The districts where a red alert has been issued include: Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, and Mandi districts where rain disrupted normal life. The India Meteorological department has also issued orange alerts for three districts in Himachal: Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur, and a yellow alert for the tribal Lahaul and Spiti district.

Himachal logs 440 fresh Covid cases, one death

The highest 172 Covid cases in Himachal were reported from Kangra followed by 61 from Mandi and 51 from Hamirpur. Thirty-six cases were reported from Shimla, 33 from Bilaspur, 24 from Una, 17 from Sirmaur, 15 from Solan, 13 each from Chamba and Kullu and five from Kinnaur.

Landslide buries car on Jeori-Sarahan road; snowfall, rain in higher reaches of Himachal

Snowfall, rains throw normal life out of gear in Himachal

Normal life was hit in Himachal Pradesh after higher reaches in the state experienced fresh spell of snowfall while low-lying areas got moderate to heavy rainfall amid an orange alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department.

Again, a western disturbance is likely to hit the region on April 3 which is likely to cause rainfall in the low-lying areas and mid hills and downfall in the higher reaches. He said that a yellow weather alert has been issued for thunderstorm, hailstorm and lightening on April 1, 3 and 4.
