Vocational courses from class 6 onwards in govt schools

Students in government and aided schools in Maharashtra, India will receive vocational education from the upcoming academic year, in line with the National Education Policy of 2020. The scheme will equip students with skills in addition to general education to prepare them for industry demands. Vocational courses for students in classes 6 to 8 will provide them with skills required for various occupations in different sectors. The National Council of Educational Research and Training will provide detailed guidelines for these vocational courses. Additionally, the state will introduce an agricultural curriculum from class 6.

EV courses, fresh tie-ups to power Skill India engine

The recent Economic Survey, too, pitched for making India an electric vehicles hub and boost employment in the automobile sector. According to the Survey, India’s market share in electric cars is just 0.06% while China has 2% share of the global share.

The Skill Mission will also collaborate with State Bank of India and HDFC Bank for promotion of apprenticeship trainings in financial sectors.
