1,800 hospitals served notices for fire safety violations: UP Fire Services DG
Lucknow authorities have conducted a statewide electrical safety audit of hospitals following a fire at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences that killed a woman and an infant. Notices have been served to around 1,800 hospitals in the state for safety violations.

Critical care at SGPGIMS: Lack of beds, VVIP culture hitting dept functioning
Patients without VVIP status struggle to get admitted to the critical care medicine unit of SGPGIMS, with most beds reserved for VVIPs and the admission process lacking transparency. There are only 20 CCM beds in a hospital of 1,600 beds, causing many patients to be refused admission. The hospital director suggests increasing CCM beds in other hospitals to alleviate the load. There is a proposal to increase the number of beds in the CCM at SGPGIMS. Attendees in the waiting list express frustration with the lack of transparency in the admission process.

UP govt approves recruitment of 2969 posts at various departments of SGPGI
The state government has approved the recruitments on 2969 posts in Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), the premier super specialty medical institute of Uttar Pradesh. Out of these vacancies, 2683 are regular government posts and only 286 posts would be filled through outsourcing agencies. The date of application would be announced soon, said an official of the PGI.
