ISRO plans to launch 36 OneWeb satellites this month. Details here

The collaboration is a result of ISRO’s commercial arm NewSpace India Limited’s two service contracts, signed with One Web for launching low Earth orbit broadband communication satellites.

ISRO to launch Amazonia-1 along with 18 other satellites today

After this, the ISRO will gear up to launch its geo imaging satellite GISAT-1, which will facilitate near real-time observation of the Indian sub-continent, under cloud-free condition, at frequent intervals.

Countdown begins for launch of communication satellite CMS-01 on-board PSLV-C50

The polar satellite launch vehicle’s 52nd mission is scheduled for lift-off at 15.41 hours on Thursday from the second launch pad at the spaceport of Sriharikota ‘subject to weather conditions’.

CMS-01 is the 42nd communication satellite of the space agency and it is envisaged for providing services in Extended-C Band of the frequency spectrum covering India, Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep islands.(PTI)

Chandrayaan-2: Late by a week, will still land on moon on planned date

The Chandrayaan-2 will now spend six additional days in Earth’s orbit and 15 fewer days around the moon before it lands on the day that was originally planned, Isro scientists have said.

The 3,850kg Chandrayaan-2 consists of an orbiter that will circle the moon for about a year, taking images and testing the atmosphere; a lander named Vikram, after Vikram Sarabhai, known as the father of India’s space exploration; and a rover named Pragyaan, which means wisdom in Sanskrit. ISRO launches super surveillance satellite, can pierce cloud cover

“It’s an all-weather satellite which can take images of the earth during the day, night and even cloudy conditions,” ISRO chairman K Sivan said.

ISRO to launch PSLV-C44 just before midnight today

The launch at 11:37 pm is said to be unique as PSLV-C44 fourth stage will be re-used automatically to launch Kalamsat payload and Microsat-R satellite into space from the First Launch Pad (FLP). PSLV is a four-stage launch vehicle with alternating solid and liquid stages.

The PSLV with two strap-on configuration has been identified for this mission and the configuration is designated as PSLV-DL. PSLV-C44 is the first mission of PSLV-DL and is a new variant of PSLV.(@isro/Twitter)
