41 years on, court puts to rest legal fight between stepbrothers

S Raj and Company, a partnership firm, had filed the suit in 1982, seeking court direction to Kishor Wadhwani and his family to vacate the flat and handover its vacant possession to the firm. The suit was filed after the dispute between the families of the stepbrothers began in 1975

85-year-old found dead in house, newly hired caretaker prime suspect

An 85-year-old doctor was found murdered in his Santacruz home with signs of strangulation and his hands tied. The live-in caretaker hired eight days prior is the prime suspect and is currently absconding. The victim's wife and maid found the body in his bedroom, with the caretaker nowhere to be seen. The police are waiting for the post-mortem report to determine the cause of death and have not established a motive yet. The couple has three grown-up children who are married and living in different localities of the city.

Fake cops try to flee with gold bangles, arrested

The complainant was walking around HiLife Mall in Santacruz when two fake policemen riding a two-wheeler approached her. They told her that there was a murder scene ahead and therefore it was not safe for her to go there wearing valuable jewellery. They convinced her to hand them over her gold bangles.

Soon, the complainant was handed over something wrapped in a newspaper. She felt something amiss and started to scream. “When she screamed, a huge crowd gathered on the spot. Man gets life term for killing 17-year-old girl

A Mumbai court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for the pre-planned murder of a 17-year-old girl in April 2017. Although the prosecution could not establish the motive behind the killing, the court held the 30-year-old guilty due to the heinous nature of the crime, which involved 25 stab wounds and slitting the girl's neck. The accused was caught by two witnesses and arrested by police.
