Two arrested in Delhi for issuing fake university degrees

Delhi Police busted a racket involved in forging degrees, mark sheets, and certificates of government and private universities. Two people have been arrested. Over 2,000 fake degrees were sold in the past three years, with prices ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹2.2 lakh. The suspects operated under the guise of an educational institute.

According to special commissioner of police (crime) Ravindra Singh Yadav, the suspects charged anywhere between <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>20,000 and <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>2.20 lakh from each person, depending upon the kind of degree. (Representational image)

Police booked six books store involved in pirating NCERT books

Police and NCERT officials conducted raids in Gurugram's Sadar market, seizing nearly one lakh pirated NCERT books for classes 6 to 12 worth lakhs of rupees. The shopkeepers were selling poor quality pirated books at cheaper rates, causing huge revenue loss to NCERT. The books were being supplied by various suppliers. Police said strict action will be taken against schools if found involved in any illegal sale of pirated books. Cases of cheating, forgery, and under the Copyright Act have been registered.
