Leopard escapes from Katraj facility, found, yet to be caught

A male leopard kept in quarantine at the Wild Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre (WARRC) in the vicinity of Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park at Katraj escaped from the facility

S African cheetah died of heart attack, says autopsy report

A six-year-old cheetah named Uday, brought from Africa as part of a project to reintroduce the species to India, died on Sunday due to a heart attack, possibly triggered by a toxin. Blood tests will reveal other health parameters of the cheetah. Experts suggested Uday may have died due to botulism, a rare illness caused by toxins entering the body. The cheetah was one of 20 brought to India from South Africa.

Hong Kong mulls changing Covid-19 hotel quarantine policy for all arrivals

Taking its cues from China which is pursuing a zero-Covid policy, Hong Kong still requires travellers from abroad to quarantine upon arrival but the length has eased over time. Currently, arrivals must pay for three days in a hotel and follow that with four days of self-monitoring.

Cambodia reduces quarantine period for unvaccinated visitors to 7 days

No quarantine for international passengers arriving in Delhi

Passengers found to be symptomatic during screening will be immediately isolated and taken to a medical facility. If they test positive, their contacts will also be identified and tested, an official said. If travellers test positive for Covid-19, their samples would be sent for genome sequencing.

A group of 2% of the total passengers in a flight will undergo random post arrival testing at the Delhi airport on arrival. Such travellers in each flight will be identified by the airlines concerned (preferably from different countries). (PTI PHOTO.)
