Strategy in place to win civic polls, says Congress

The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee plans to field strong candidates in upcoming civic elections and is in the process of selecting candidates based on a seat-to-seat basis. The party may also establish new teams to strengthen its presence in urban local bodies. However, UPCC president Brijlal Khabri criticized the government for inadequate reservation for Dalits and other backward classes in the polls.

As the Congress does not have any organisational structure at the municipal corporation-level, it may soon set up new teams that will work to strengthen the party in urban local bodies. (For representation)
