Bandra bridge in Mumbai to open by December 31

A division bench of chief justice Pradeep Nandrajog and justice Bharati Dangre was hearing an application by KPP Nair, seeking restoration of his public interest litigation (PIL), which was disposed of earlier this year after the Railways had submitted an undertaking that the new FoB would be completed within July.

On Friday, senior counsel Venkatesh Dhond appearing for Nair told the court that office-goers of BKC were being inconvenienced owing to the closure of the skywalk.(HT image)

Consumer court orders can be enforced directly: State government to HC

Clause 14(6) of the Consumer Protection Rules, 2019 mandated the state commission and district fora to forward applications seeking execution of orders passed by them in favour of consumers.

No change in size of bank notes in near future: RBI

Senior advocate VR Dhond, who represented the banking regulator, made this statement in response to a query made by the HC bench of Chief Justice Pradeep Nandrajog and justice Bharati Dangre.

Bombay HC restrains BMC from acquiring any gaothan properties

The petitioner has cited the example of Kharodi gaothan, where a slum-rehabilitation scheme has been implemented, despite steep resistance from the locals, and now efforts are being made to declare Karol gaothan in Kurla as a slum, although it has been duly recognised as a gaothan in the DP.

The petitioner contended that under slum redevelopment projects, the original inhabitants have been given much smaller permanent alternate accommodations.(HT image)
