Rain brings coolest day in Delhi since April 2: IMD
The maximum temperature at the Safdarjung observatory, Delhi’s base weather station, on Sunday dipped to 31.3°C

Isolated rain fails to keep searing heat in city at bay
Delhi experienced a maximum temperature of 36.7°C on Wednesday, one degree above normal for this time of year, with isolated parts experiencing a drizzle in the morning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said southwesterly winds blew towards the region in the last 24 hours, which brought some moisture from the Arabian sea, leading to localised rain spells in some parts. The rise in mercury is likely to continue, with temperatures forecast to touch 37°C on Thursday, 38°C by Friday and 39°C on Saturday, and cross the 40-degree mark by Sunday.

Rain in Delhi, more in store on Tuesday, says IMD
From Wednesday onwards, clear skies are expected to return, and the mercury will gradually increase towards the end of the week, IMD predicted.
