Lok Sabha elections: Bihar leads in NOTA votes

Bihar, which sends 40 members to the Lok Sabha, saw 2.07% of all votes go to NOTA, the highest among major states.

Each EVM can cater to a maximum of 64 candidates (including NOTA) with a provision for 16 candidates in one ballot unit. If the total number of candidates exceeds 16, a second balloting unit can be linked in series to the first unit. (REPRESENTATIVE PIC)

Supreme Court seeks ECI reply on repolling if NOTA gets majority

A bench, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, also agreed to examine whether the polling body should promote and publicise Nota as a “fictional” electoral candidate in elections to raise voter awareness throughout the country.
