Five Kerala men use navigation app through dense forest, get stranded amid rains

An official clarified that the men actually did not get lost as their indeed was a way through the forest. They just got stuck in a muddy pit due to the rains.

Spot, shoot, upload: Chandigarh residents act as eyes of traffic police

In the last four years (2019 to 2022), Chandigarh traffic police have challaned 54,567 violators on the basis of complaints from the public on the former’s social media platforms, including Facebook page, Twitter and Whatsapp.

Armed with smart phones, Chandigarh residents shared a total of 2,090 photos on the FB and Twitter pages of UT police, which included images of wrongly parked vehicles, vehicles plying on cycle tracks, those halted on zebra crossing, people driving two-wheelers without helmets, triple riding and violation of number plate norms. What is NavIC, the Made in India navigation system that Centre is pushing for?

The Centre in August had said that NavIC is as good as the GPS in terms of position accuracy. The 2021 satellite navigation policy had stated that the government will work towards expanding the coverage to ensure the availability of the NavIC signal in any corner of the world.

New ATC tower at IGI airport, Delhi to start operations by month-end

Officers said the new set up will also help the controllers divide the air space into nine sectors.
