Substance use disorders linked to Covid-19 susceptibility

People with substance use disorders (SUDs), including those who excessively use tobacco, alcohol, opioid, cannabis, and cocaine, are more susceptible to COVID-19 and its complications, according to a study which assessed the electronic health records (EHR) of millions of patients in the US.

Gurugram school murder: Court dismisses bail plea of teenage suspect

The Punjab and Haryana High Court, on Friday, dismissed the bail petition of a teenager accused of slitting the throat of a Class-2 student of a private school in Gurugram in September 2017. The father of the 18-year-old suspect, who was a juvenile at the time of the incident, had filed an application on March 3, seeking interim bail for his son so that he could take his Class-12 practical and theoretical examinations conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) between March and April.
