On Wednesday, the National Disaster Rescue Force's (NDRF) local divers and the Vadodara fire team were running a search operation.

15 tourists trapped on rocks rescued from Narmada river in MP's Khandwa. Video

The incident occurred at Nagar Ghat of Omkareshwar when water was released from the dam, said an official.

Floods in 3 Gujarat districts, over 9,000 shifted

The intensity of showers decreased during the day, but in the last three days, rain-related accidents claimed 12 lives in the state, said Commissioner of Relief Harshad Patel.

Narmada sand mining: File attempt to murder cases, says MP minister

Narmada, which originates from Amarkantak in Anuppur district in MP and merges in Gulf of Khambhat (Arabian Sea) in Gujarat after traversing a distance of 1,312 kilometres, was declared a “living entity” in May, 2017 by the MP government.

The minister said he had ordered for the installation of CCTVs along the routes leading to the river and asked police to take action if trucks are found overloaded.(PTI)
