The verification process started on September 15 and will continue for three months. Sixty-three-year-old Shankar reached the city from Hyderabad at 7am on Thursday, and the journey cost him <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>700. “We’ve been standing in this queue since 8am. One Patra Chawl rehab building will be ready this year: MHADA to HC

MHADA has informed the Bombay High Court that it aims to complete one of the rehab buildings in the Patra Chawl redevelopment project by the end of the year, ahead of its scheduled deadline of May 2024. The housing authority also pledged to identify eligible tenants to receive transit rent and arrears. The 47-acre redevelopment project at Siddharth Nagar has been taken over by MHADA after the original developer failed to carry out its obligations. The court had directed MHADA to submit an affidavit outlining its plans for completing the project and paying transit rent and arrears to the original tenants.

Sewri Fort to get flamingo-viewing gallery as part of its makeover

Rajiv Nivatkar, currently officiating as the collector of Mumbai city district, recently visited the spot with his officers. He said that a full plan had been devised for a makeover, including external illumination of the fort. Nivatkar has also told his officers to make a 15-minute film to be shown at the fort.

Gulab Supekar, the district planning officer, said that the district planning and development committee had also approved toilets and other amenities like a parking lot for tourists. “A garden with some landscaping will also come up in the vicinity,” he said, adding that the work would be carried out by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) and supervised by the director of state archaeology. Patra Chawl case: ED attaches Wadhawans’ 2 Goa properties

The ED has attached two land parcels in Goa worth INR 31.5 crore owned by HDIL promoters Rakesh and Sarang Wadhawan as part of its probe into alleged financial irregularities in the redevelopment of Siddharth Nagar. The ED alleges that Guru Ashish Contruction, owned by the Wadhawan family, sold the floor space index of the rehabilitation project to nine builders and collected INR 901.79 crore from them, without constructing the rehab buildings and MHADA portions. The father-son duo diverted the proceeds of crime to group companies and their personal bank accounts, the agency claims.
