According to the policy provision, a bar or restaurant owner will have to get a separate licence and will be fully responsible for running the outlet at the condominiums

Haryana excise dept to crack down on liquor licence menace

Haryana's excise department is considering a crackdown on clubs, pubs, restaurants and other establishments operating without a liquor licence. Officials have identified around 20 facilities in Gurugram's Sector 29, Golf Course Extension Road and Golf Course Road that are operating without a licence for extended hours. To obtain a liquor licence, an establishment owner must apply for L4 and L5 licences. If the owner plans to keep the pub or bar open until 2am, an annual fee of INR20 lakh ($27,000) is required. For those that want to stay open until 8am, an additional INR18 lakh is required.

9 clubs on Gurugram’s MG Road face closure, cancellation of liquor licence

In a post-midnight raid, the police seized records of these clubs as they found discrepancies in the list of patrons and club dancers visiting these establishments.

No restriction on ahatas draws ire of Gurugram pub owners

Ahatas, also known as anumat kaksh, are small eateries allowed outside liquor outlets to stop people from drinking in the open. The aim of an ahata is to prevent drunken behaviour in public. The licence fee for an ahata is a meagre 0.04% of the liquor zone fee of that particular area.

UP: Excise department to step up raids on outlets serving liquor without licence

The excise department of Uttar Pradesh (UP) has decided to step up surprise raids on bars, pubs, clubs, restaurants and hotels serving liquor without valid licences.
