TDP leader hacked to death in Andhra Pradesh’s Hosuru village

A senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader was hacked to death allegedly by his rivals at Hosuru village in Pattikonda block of Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district in the early hours on Wednesday, a police officer said.

Andhra: Covid-19 claims 41 lives, 54 new cases reported in 24 hours

An official bulletin released by the state health department on Friday said out of the three fresh deaths, two and one were reported from Kurnool and Visakhapatnam districts, respectively.

Andhra irrigation minister hides under jacket as honey bees attack

Langur Lakshmi, who was a regular at Andhra school, killed in stray dog attack

The langur had come to the school from nearby forests of Peapully sometime in the last week of July and very soon, became friends with the students, all in the age group of five to 10 years studying up to Class 5.

Telugu doctor falls to death in Kulu as paragliding parachute snaps

Lakka Chandrasekhar Reddy, a resident of Mohan Nagar Colony near Nagole on the city outskirts, who had been to Kulu and Manali along with three friends on a pleasure trip, attempted paragliding in the mountains at around 2 pm.

Narrow escape for passengers as bus catches fire in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool

Within a few minutes of all 20 passengers getting down the bus, flames spread all over the bus and their belongings were burnt into ashes.

Bus engulfed in fire in Kurnool district. All the 20 passengers made a quick escape before the bus caught fire and no causalities were reported.(ANI)

Swine flu deaths go up in southern states, toll now 50

While Maharashtra and Rajasthan reported around 408 deaths related to swine flu, the increasing frequency of fatalities in the south has prompted health officials to step up preventive measures.

According to the National Centre for Disease Control, a total of 1,260 cases of swine flu were reported from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry till October 14. Out of this, at least 37 persons succumbed.(HT/File Photo)
