Anantnag operations on, hunt for terrorists continues

The operation to flush out terrorists hiding in Garole forests of Kokernag in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag has entered its fifth day. Security forces are widening the area of operation and using drones and helicopters for surveillance. The operation involves special forces and counterterrorism specialists, and three personnel have been killed so far. The encounter is still ongoing, with no official confirmation of any terrorists being killed. The operation was disrupted temporarily due to rains and a CRPF man was injured in an accidental discharge of a weapon.

Gulmarg gets snow, rains lash plains in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir has been receiving intermittent light rains since the last week of March with rains bringing down temperatures in most parts of the union territory. The ski resort of Gulmarg recorded a highest of 5.7°C during the previous day, and a low of -1.6 °C on the previous night.

Gulmarg received snowfall and rains lashed plains during the night while the weather remained largely dry during the day except light rains at a few places on Thursday.
