Two OGWs detained under PSA in J&K’s Kishtwar, Kathua

In Kishtwar, police booked Jaffer Hussain Butt, an over-ground worker (OGW) from Hunjala, under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for actively aiding banned outfits in their unlawful activities, the spokesperson said, adding that his actions posed a grave threat to the stability and security of the region.

Snowfall in higher reaches, light rains lash plains in Jammu and Kashmir

Fresh snowfall was experienced in Kashmir’s mountainous areas while light rains were observed in plains of the Valley and Jammu region. The meteorological department said widespread light rain was recorded in Kashmir and at isolated places in Jammu region’s Banihal, Batote, Doda and Kishtwar areas.

Director MeT Sonam Lotus said that the precipitation will continue for the next two days. “On April 5 and 6, brief spells of rain at scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir towards late afternoon and evenings were expected,” he said. Fresh snowfall was experienced in Kashmir’s mountainous areas. (PTI)

Several houses gutted in huge fire in Jammu & Kashmir's Kishtwar. Video

The village is located in the Gandhari area of the Kishtwar district. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
