Militant killed by ‘rival’ group

The slain militant was identified as Adil Dass, who had quit the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) to join a so-called Islamic State (IS) inspired group operating in Kashmir. Arif Hussain Bhat, the wounded militant, is a suspected member of the home-grown Hizbul Mujahideen (HM).

Yasin Malik was brought to the national capital Tuesday evening after a special NIA court in Jammu gave the go ahead for his custodial interrogation by the probe agency, they said.

JKLF’s Yasin Malik booked under PSA act, being shifted to Jammu

Malik was arrested on February 22 and kept at the Kothibagh police station in Srinagar. However, he was informed by police on Wednesday evening that he is being shifted to Jammu’s Kotbalwal jail.

JKLF’s spokesperson confirmed Malik was booked under PSA, which allows for people to be held for up to two years without judicial intervention, and will be taken to Kotbalwal jail.(PTI)
