Three killed in Kapurthala road mishap

Three youths were killed in a road accident at Tibba village of Kapurthala district late night on Monday. All the deceased were in their 20s. Police said the accident took place on the Sultanpur Lodhi-Talwandi road when a motorcycle and a scooter collided with each other.

Sultanpur Lodhi gurdwara clash: Takht jathedar blames CM for violation of maryada

The incident took place on November 23 last year when Kapurthala police tried to intervene between the two Nihang groups who had been at loggerheads over the control of the gurdwara. A home guard jawan was killed while 10 persons including four policemen and two local journalists were injured in the clash.

Controversy over Kapurthala village imposing entry tax on commercial vehicles to generate revenue

Deputy commissioner DPS Kharbanda said the matter came to light recently and he will fix the responsibility of concerned officials who have allowed the Nangal Lubana panchayat to impose an entry tax without an approval from the government.
