9-year-old boy killed in leopard attack in Junnar 

A nine-year-old boy was killed by a leopard in Junnar, marking the sixth fatality in the area this year. Authorities are launching a search and capture operation.

Wild trails: Junnar a hotspot for leopard-human conflict

A 12-year-old boy was killed in a leopard attack in Pune district, bringing the total number of deaths in the region to three this year. The forest department has placed cages in areas of high leopard population, and has urged citizens to maintain a safe distance and notify them if they spot an animal. The attacks are believed to be due to the encroachment of forest areas by urbanisation, causing damage to the jungle corridor and leading animals to invade human space.
