The state's revenue stood at INR 33,196 crore ($4.6 billion) in April, dropped in May, but rose again in June and July. The growth is attributed to the strong performance of the services and manufacturing sectors, as well as efforts by the central government to curb tax evasion. Maharashtra's GST collection in 2022-23 was INR 2,70,346 crore, accounting for 15% of the country's total collection.
