Little done to check safety violations in Mohali school buses, say road safety experts

As per Mohali district protection officer (DCPO) Navpreet Kaur, a total of 51 buses were checked in nearly two months, out of which seven were challaned for violations. The DCPO said four of the buses were challaned for not having first-aid kits till April 24.

MCG commissioner inspects Bandhwari landfill site

Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) will use two sewage treatment plant sites of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority for disc tube and reverse osmosis units to treat the legacy leachate at the Bandhwari landfill site. The MCG will purchase DRTOs from a fund established by the Haryana government to tackle pollution. MCG commissioner PC Meena has instructed daily monitoring and penalties for delays in processing waste and setting up a waste-to-energy plant. Vehicles used at the site will be fitted with GPS to ensure compliance.
