Godavari in spate, second flood warning issued in Andhra

Tungabhadra dam gate washes away in Karnataka, posing flood risk to three states

A flood alert has been issued downstream of the Pampa Sagar Dam following the failure of its 19th gate, leading to a significant water release.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced that two contractor firms have been engaged to repair the damaged gate.(PTI)

Threat of floods abates in Kashmir as rains relent

Throughout the day there were minimal rains, although river Jhelum had hit flood warning level in south Kashmir’s Pampore and capital Srinagar early on Tuesday owing to continuous rains from Friday till Monday midnight.

GB Nagar warns of flood after IMD forecasts heavy rain in Uttarakhand over next five days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand. Thus, there is a possibility that the water level will again rise in rivers such as Yamuna, Sharda, Hindon and Ganga, among others
