More than 130,000 flamingoes visited Thane creek this year: Dept

In 2018-19, 1.20 lakh flamingoes were found in the creek, while 96,400 were found in 2019-20. However, due to Covid, counting could not be conducted in 2020 and 2021.

More than 50,000 pink flamingos gather in French wetlands, sight is a treat for the eyes

Experts relying on aerial photos estimated that 25,000 flamingo couples, or 50,000 adult birds, settled in the area.

The numbers of pink flamingos may be the highest since experts began keeping records 45 years ago, said Thierry Marmol, guardian of the lands.(AP)
