More than 100 aqua hubs to be set up in Andhra Pradesh to aid fishing community

The chief minister said as many as 120 shops will be set up under each of hubs, which will be made accessible to the fishing community with the next two years.

Mangroves near Mumbai are being destroyed methodically through debris dumping

HT visited six locations in the area where mangroves have been destroyed or wetlands reclaimed. The results are worrying.

HT found that large tracts of mangroves had dried up near Hovercraft jetty, fourth container terminal at JNPT, where Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal Private Limited (BMCTPL) is located, and even areas where hacked mangrove trees were stored by unknown persons, a clear violation of Bombay high court orders and Environment Protection Act, 1986, near Gavhan village.(PRATIK CHORGE/HT)
