Indo-Nepal bus service begins from Siliguri after two years of Covid-19

The Siliguri-Kakkarvitta-Kathmandu bus will run on a regular basis from Tenzing Norgay bus terminus at 2 pm, will cover 615km and reach Kathmandu the next morning at around 7 am. The ticket is priced at Rs1500 per person.

Kolkata mayor Firhad Hakim said that the city administration is using lessons learnt from the effects of cyclone Amphan in May 2020 to take measures in wake of cyclone Asani, including keeping electric saws, earthmovers, cranes on standby to clear blockades caused by uprooted trees and other debris.

Cyclone Asani is expected to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm later on Sunday, May 8, 2022, according to the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) forecast.(PTI)
