Punjab: 23 drug convicts’ properties worth over 3 crore seized

Properties worth ₹10 lakh were permanently confiscated and apart from this, proceedings for attaching property worth around ₹1.38 crore in seven other cases have also been initiated

As per police records, in 2023, 193 NDPS Act cases were registered in the Faridkot district, while in 2024, 248 cases were registered. (HT File)

Facing backlash, Punjab Speaker takes back order seeking teachers’ explanation

On October 18, Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan had written to education department, seeking explanation on AAP Jaitu MLA Amolak Singh’s complaint that three teachers did not receive him during his visit to the Government Primary School at Gondara village in Faridkot district last month.

Punjab: Sketches of Sikh activist’s ‘shooters’ released

Sikh activist Gurpreet Singh was shot dead by four unidentified assailants at Hari Nau village in Faridkot district on October 9. A four-member special investigation team, led by Faridkot SP (investigation) Jasmeet Singh, is probing the murder case.

The police have urged the people to share information in case they come across the killers.
