The two most acclaimed poems on the Partition came from Urdu poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz, ‘Subah-e Azadi (The Dawn of Freedom) and Punjabi poet Amrita Pritam’s ‘Ajj Akhan Waris Shah Nu’ (Ode to Waris Shah) are well known.
