Corpus fund to take care of kin of KGMU teachers who die on duty

The King George?s Medical University teachers? association will contribute one day's salary every month for up to five years to create a corpus fund to help the families of teachers who die while in service. The interest from the fund will help such families financially. The association's members were also re-elected unopposed, including Dr KK Singh as president. Dr Singh called for the university to get its executive council four elected members in addition to the existing nominated members to ensure that decisions related to patient care and teacher services are thoroughly discussed.

Law university teachers to boycott practical exams

The teachers’ general body will meet in the first half of Monday to decide its further course of action, the protesting teachers said.

Vice-chancellor SK Bhatnagar said, “The EC is not yet fully constituted. The matter of regularisation of teaching posts (not of teachers) is to be done by the state government and this issue does not fall within the jurisdiction of the executive council or even the university as such.” (For representation)

Master’s course in public health, re-hiring policy in works at Delhi University

The committee gave its clearance, and suggested that the institute could initiate the course with an intake of 20 students per year from the upcoming academic session. The varsity has also framed guidelines for the re-employment of “research-oriented academicians” post-retirement, officials said.

HRD ministry tells DU to set a deadline to fill staff vacancies

According to a senior official, a review meeting was called by the higher education secretary R Subrahmanyam, which was also attended by Delhi University vice-chancellor Yogesh Tyagi.
