Haryana asks discoms to levy fuel surcharges

DHBVN officials said that the FPPAS, earlier known as fuel surcharge adjustment or FSA, was started in April 2023 and was continued till June 2024. Orders were issued in July last year to continue the charges till December 2024. Officials also added that users with electricity consumption below 200 units will be exempted from the charge

Punjab's free electricity scheme has led to a surge in domestic connections, raising consumption and projected subsidy costs, risking PSPCL's financial stability.

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) had approved 5.5 lakh new domestic electricity connections between 2020 and 2022 before the launch of the free power scheme but the number rose to 6.27 lakh between 2022 and 2024, marking an increase of nearly 80,000.

UP push to renewable energy: 3 solar parks commissioned, six more to follow soon

The state has received significant investments specifically for the establishment of solar parks in the solar energy sector. Under this initiative, nine solar parks are being developed. Of these, solar parks with capacities of 365 MW and 65 MW, totalling 430 MW, have already been commissioned, and production has begun.

Trombay and Dahanu power plants, which supply the city, now lack the capacity to meet demand and are also expensive. Power experts claim that in the next few years, demand will rise by 2,000 MW. Pune airport saves 112 KW energy with LED lights

The current consumption of the Lohegaon International Airport, according to officials, was 192 KW. However, after the installation of the new LED lights, the consumption has reduced to 80 KW. This has saved a total of 112 KW of electricity.
